I was born and raised in North Vancouver and to this day it is my home. I have been employed as a care worker, working with people living with disabilities for the last five years. Along with the wonderful relationships I enjoy with my clients I’ve had the opportunity to experience adaptive recreation and see how meaningful and paramount these opportunities are for everyone. I recently graduated from Douglas College with a certificate in Recreation Therapy and I feel most passionate about outdoor and adventure recreation. I coordinated the BCMOS summer Trail Riding program and have been lucky to be involved in some extremely amazing adventures including Mount Kilimanjaro ( Africa) and most dear to my heart, The West Coast Trail of course! I am a huge lover of nature, hiking, kick boxing and pretty much any sport that involves ball play.
It is difficult to put in words what the Standing Spirit Project means to me because it truly has been a journey of the spirit (s) and magic is very hard to describe. Challenge is growth and I think anything is possible if you truly believe and want it bad enough. This is not just about helping a beautiful man through the West Coast Trail; it is about a group of people living with their own challenges on an incredible journey together. There couldn’t be a more genuine or dynamic group of people to share this with. We believe in the journey, therefore we will succeed! |
