Tomas Skrinskas

I am from Toronto, Ontario. I work as a research engineer at Sunnybrook Hospital in the Orthopedic and Biomechanics Lab. Sounds fancy doesn't it? I enjoy it but much rather be on top of a steep pitch staring down 2 feet of snow. But, that being said, I've been afforded many wonderful opportunities in my life and to squander them would be an insult to all those who have helped me along in my short life. One of those people is Corby Petersen. I met Corby in Fernie, BC about two years ago and he has changed my life twice since the first time we shook hands. First, he made me know myself in 3 months, quite a crash course I might add. And second, he asked me to participate in the SSP. He always afforded me a degree of patience and trust that made me realize I was capable of just about anything. This has become even more evident to me since I I met Brad. His is not a story of, "deal with the hand that life dealt you" or any other number of clichés. The endgame for his legacy is still unknown and I can't speculate on its impact. What I can say is that these defining years of my life are setting me up for something great. Knowing what that "something" is is the tough part, but looking at Brad, I can only hope to be in his spirits when I truly define myself as he has.
